Bank DnB NORD Offshore Regtta Day: Exciting Round-the-Buoys racing in the Gulf of Gdansk
30.07.08It was a day of colourful spinnakers and gennakers and exciting racing yesterday in the Gulf of Gdansk during the 4th leg of this years regatta. It may be the fourth annual Baltic Sprint Cup, but it was the first ever edition of the Bank DnB NORD Offshore Regatta Days.
A few highlights from the Bank DnB NORD Offshore Regatta Day in the Gulf of Gdansk.
The boats pulled into historic Gdansk after a day under the hot sun that saw the yachts complete two full round-the-buoy races in the Gulf – each worth a full leg victory. Not a bad deal for a couple hours of work. It was also a chance for the crews to demonstrate their sailing skills in a short race format.
In the end, several yachts made it to the podium who had not been there before in the Baltic Sprint Cup 2008. And there is no doubt that it did bring a new dimension to this year’s regatta.
